The Giving Earth website was established several years ago by Kandice Thompson.  This site was created to bring people together from all walks of life, regardless of political or religious views.  

Together as a community we can teach and practice tolerance, respect and kindness towards all creation.  When we set our egos aside we can reach a better understanding for our fellow human race.  Do no harm in all that you do.

One of the main reasons for the Giving Earth website is to help raise awareness on the importance of supporting local and earth friendly farms, fellow homesteaders and sustainability. 

We live by many mottos that teach us to tread lightly and respect all life.  All creation breathes the same air and drinks the same water.

When you purchase fresh produce from your local farmers market, you help support your very own community.  Make sure the items are in deed grown in Ohio.  Support natural and humanely raised meats and dairy that are free of synthetic hormones and antibiotics.  Make sure your produce is pesticide free and preferably non-GMO’d (genetically modified or engineered).  To avoid this, purchase heirloom produce.

The Thompson family rent their land and home, but make the most use out of it.  It was rented by Kandice’s parents in the past, so it has been her long time childhood home that she has returned to.  Their garden boasts a large amount of heirloom fruits and vegetables that the family will can, dehydrate and freeze.  Some of their produce makes it to the local farm markets in Ashland. 

In early 2010 Kandice began a small cottage farm industry out of her home.  From Scratch ~ Old World Baked Goods offers stone baked artisan breads, cookies, biscuits, muffins and other treats.  All items are made entirely from scratch with the highest quality ingredients available!  You can find the From Scratch booth at the Midweek Farmers Market on Wednesdays in downtown Ashland.  You can also order online at anytime!

In 2006 Kandice was honored with becoming an internationally and nationally nominated freelance photographer.  Her photography is inspired by the raw beauty of nature and all the earths creations.  View the Gallery for her Freelance Images.  Now Kandice has a small in-house studio and offers portrait sittings to the public.
